The other night, NBC TV show Saturday Night Live (SNL) ran a re-run of the show that originally aired on March 15, 2008. Earlier that week, former New York governor Eliot Spitzer came under fire for being linked to a prostitution ring. The accusation and admittance by Spitzer of course led to his untimely resignation as governor.
This heated story naturally became fodder for all comics and late-night TV show hosts, including Saturday Night Live. There’s a segment on SNL called Weekend Update, with news anchors Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler. And sometimes within that segment is a segment called Really, With Seth and Amy, in which the two poke fun at a particular newsworthy story or person.
On the March 15th show, they ran the Really segment and the topic was Eliot Spitzer. Seth mentioned that Spitzer didn’t wear a condom while engaged in his activities with his call girls. Seth said it would one thing if Spitzer was the first guy in line to make it with a particular girl, but he was the ninth guy, and still thought nothing (apparently) of not wearing a condom!
Aghast at this, Seth commented, “Really!”, and that he (Seth) wears a condom even if he’s ninth in line at the deli!
Too funny!
Of course, if Spitzer did not in fact wear a condom while “practicing” his infidelities, shame on him big time. This was another point (in a long line of points) in which he set a very bad example.
Wear a condom for heaven sakes. Don’t take stupid risks. And yes, as Seth Meyers put it, it may very well be a great idea to wear a condom while standing in the deli line!
Thai Business Owner Actively Promotes Using a Condom
Social capitalism in high form at this restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand. Condoms are front and center, displayed prominently throughout this restaurant named Cabbages and Condoms.
The owner’s desire is to make condoms as readily available in the country as cabbages; thus, the aptly named business. His goal is to help reduce the occurrence of HIV and unwanted teen pregnancies.

Like I’ve been saying on this blog: Using a condom is just plain smart.
If you’re looking for a unique, unforgettable sexual experience when using a condom, look no further than this stud! Literally, the Durex Intense Sensation Lubricated Studded condom has a very sensual studded texture. There are hundreds of little raised studs on this thing, and the result is a higher intensity of extreme pleasure.
You can get a 12-pack, 36-pack, or a 100-pack. The price ranges from about $6 to $36, depending on the package you get.
To add to the sensation, this condom has a silky smooth lubricant, is non-spermicidal, sports a fine coral color, and features a reservoir tip (not a rounded tip). It’s a decent size as well, measuring in at a length of 178mm and a width of 53mm.
The Durex Intense Sensation Lubricated Studded condom has a stronger latex smell than many other latex condoms, but still, a lot of people are more than pleasantly surprised at the amazingly pleasurable impact this condom has on their sexual activities! Some women are saying this is the only condom they want their man to use since the intense excitement is out of this world, and they can more readily enjoy multiple orgasms as well!
One woman even reported that her orgasm was so intense and pleasurable, she almost blacked out! Can you imagine that? Just from a little ol’ condom!
That’s what you can look forward to with this lubricated studded Durex condom.
Contraceptives, and the living is easy… for the men!
Seems unfair, doesn’t it? Typical in a male-dominated world that here’s another area in which women must carry the weight of responsibility and action. Women have all kinds of contraceptives, some of which can actually alter a woman’s body chemistry, like birth control pills and injections. Other types require insertion like sponges and IUDs.
All the guy has to do is slap on a condom, yet it always seems inconvenient and ruins the “spur of the moment”! Better to be spontaneous as long as the woman has done her part for protection against an unwanted pregnancy.
But condoms have huge benefits and advantages compared to the female variety of contraceptives. Girls, you have to spell it out for your guy, even if you have to grab him by the you-know-whats to not only make him pay attention but also to convince him.
Condoms are cheap by comparison, so you both save money. They are easily accessible and quick to acquire and use. Most importantly, they are safe - they block the flow of semen so no sperm will make it in. And there are no side effects in its use. It goes on, it’s used, and it comes off. A woman on birth control pills, for example, could easily experience all kinds of adverse side effects, and that’s not good for her and not for her partner (since if she feels lousy, she won’t exactly be in the mood).
So turn the tables on this. It takes two to tango. Have him take responsibility and step up to the plate. Have your man put on a condom for a change.
There are a number of ways to enhance female libido, particularly during times when your sex drive is diminished (assuming it’s “normal” overall - if not, you might have other issues going on that I won’t go into in this post).
Popular among female libido enhancers are creams. Your libido will be down if you’re experiencing vaginal dryness; sex just doesn’t feel good in this condition, hence the reduced desire to have sex. Using a feminine lubricant will ease the dryness and can help increase your drive.
You should consider an all-natural cream that you rub all around and in your vaginal area. The dryness goes away, making arousal easier since your natural wetness comes back into play!
The creams are nice because they can be used as part of your foreplay, if you wish. Indeed, you may want to apply the lubricant yourself (speaking to the ladies here!) in private. But you might also consider having your partner do it for you, or with you. This can be a real turn on for both of you! Instant desire! Whether it’s the cream doing its thing or the fact that the two of you are playing with the cream, who knows and who cares? The point is that you’re both fired up and ready to go at it! So, a feminine lubricant can become an object of foreplay.
Speaking of activities to do with your partner, another thing to try is sensual massage oils. This can work wonders as a female libido enhancer. You each give other gentle, erotic massages. You can do full body massages or focus your attention on just certain body parts, like hands, feet, butt, or elsewhere!
Certainly when you’re getting your massage, you can easily increase your desire for sexual activity because it feels so good. Equally magical is when it’s YOU massaging your partner. Your desire can naturally increase as you rub your hands all over your partners body, making it wet and slippery, along with the amazing thoughts that you are at the moment making your partner feel good as well.
There are several types of female libido enhancers. I’ve touched on a couple here. You should try sensual massage oils and a feminine lubricant if you never have - you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The word needs to be shouted from more roof tops more often so that more people use condoms for safer sex and the reduction of sexually transmitted diseases.
What better way to help the cause than to get Hollywood involved. And who better to front the ad campaign than mega superstar Johnny Depp, star of Pirates of the Carribean movies, among many others.
Reports were flying about recently that condom company Trojan was dangling a $10 million deal in front of Depp to get him to appear in their upcoming ad campaign for the promotion of the company’s new Magnum-brand of condoms. Sources claim the condom executives already have a slogan ready to “rip and roll” (so to speak!): “Stand up with Johnny for safer sex.”
Other reports from the Depp camp deny the notion that he’s considering such an offer.
Okay, fine. If not Johnny Depp, then some other Hollywood big wig needs to step up to the plate, a polarizing figure who will make people listen and then take action: Use condoms.
We’ll have to wait and see I guess. Will there be condom ads with Johnny Depp or some other major Hollywood star? Stay tuned…
It’s an important, and popular question that most condom users - both new and veteran condom users - ask: What size condom do I need? What’s the right condom size for me?
Studies have shown that almost half of all people who use condoms feel their condom of choice did not fit properly. About a third of condom users feel the condom was too tight, or very tight. No wonder condom users ask about choosing the right size condom.
So here’s what you do:
Pinch the closed end of the condom when first putting it on, before rolling it. Pinching the condom in this way leaves room for any air pressure that builds up, helping to prevent the condom from bursting. Once you’ve done that, roll it down, all the way (otherwise, it might slip off during intercourse).
Once the condom is on all the way, pay attention NOW (before any sexual activity) to how it feels. If it’s too loose, with space between the condom and skin, it might slip off… it’s too big. On the other hand, if it’s too tight, it may break during intercourse - big problem there! The root cause of condoms breaking is due to the girth of the user’s shaft, not his length. So, in this case, you need a wider condom than what you’re currently using.
Use adequate lubrication. Yes, I know many condoms are already lubed right out of the package. But for extra peace of mind, easpecially during heavy sexual sessions, use more lubricant. Be sure to only use water-based lubes since oil-based lubricant can cause the condom to break.
The best tip for getting the correct size condom is to get a variety of condoms and try them all. Get a variety pack. Get different brands and styles. Try them on in your “spare” time, i.e. free time that isn’t leading up to sex. Get a feel in advance for what’s too tight, and what’s too loose. Then have those condoms on hand when you’re about to have intercourse.
Durex condoms are the top selling brand of condoms in the world! In the four billion dollar a year condom industry, Durex sale account for about 25% of all condoms sold! What’s more, they’re available in over 150 countries… think about that: That’s a ton of people using a ton of condoms!
Still, more people need to use condoms for safety against disease and unwanted pregnancies.
But there are so many condom type available… even in the Durex condom line.
What can you do?

The College of William and Mary is taking a pro-active step to help maintain the availability of condoms to its students. As reported the other day in the college’s student newspaper, the Office of Health Education and the Health Outreach Peer Educators are surveying students to determine how they feel about the college’s current distribution of condoms on campus.
Are students too embarrassed to take the free condoms available from the Fish Bowl in the Campus Center and at the Student Health Center? If so, would students favor getting free condoms “more discreetly” by getting them in their mailbox? The idea wouldn’t be to send condoms to all students since not everyone wants or needs them; rather, only those students who requested condoms via a confidential ordering system would find them turning up in their mail.
Pretty cool idea - wish I had that when I was in college!
Anyway, this idea has raised the issue of whether or not making condoms more readily available will only drive more students to engage in sexual activities, or whether there’s a static level of such activity already and the improved condom distribution idea will do good by making the activity safer.
Good Lord! Debate all you want kids - condoms are condoms are condoms, and they even if they “promote” sexual activity, they also promote safety in that activity. Condoms are a good thing. Get them in more students’ hands (those that need the); the sex is going to happen at whatever level (as a percentage of the student population)… it’s a no-brainer to make it as safe as it can be. If putting condoms in the mail serves the needs of the students, then go for it (and again, the survey underway will determine if students’ needs in this regard are being met or not).
All you want is safe sex… That, and the ability to limit the risk of transmitting - or getting - a sexually transmitted disease or get your girl pregnant. All you want is a condom, a good condom, a great condom! So off you go to the pharmacy or supermarket and head to the condoms area. Wow - what a display! The sheer number of types, the colors, the fancy packaging, all the funky names. It’s enough to freeze you in your tracks, not make a decision, and not get (and therefore not use) condoms. No - that won’t do!!!
So: What to do? How do you choose the best condom for you?
There are so many choices, so many brands, and so many types. Again, all you want is a condom for crying out loud!
The condom business is just like so many other industries that server consumers: Too many products, too many choices.
Your best bet in the case of picking the right condom is to go with a major name brand to start with. The best condoms for men are Trojan condoms and Durex condoms.
Hot tip: Get a pack of both Trojans and Durex, try them both, then decide which you like the best.
