Wearing a Condom in the Deli Line
May 6, 2008 by condomsandlubes
The other night, NBC TV show Saturday Night Live (SNL) ran a re-run of the show that originally aired on March 15, 2008. Earlier that week, former New York governor Eliot Spitzer came under fire for being linked to a prostitution ring. The accusation and admittance by Spitzer of course led to his untimely resignation as governor.
This heated story naturally became fodder for all comics and late-night TV show hosts, including Saturday Night Live. There’s a segment on SNL called Weekend Update, with news anchors Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler. And sometimes within that segment is a segment called Really, With Seth and Amy, in which the two poke fun at a particular newsworthy story or person.
On the March 15th show, they ran the Really segment and the topic was Eliot Spitzer. Seth mentioned that Spitzer didn’t wear a condom while engaged in his activities with his call girls. Seth said it would one thing if Spitzer was the first guy in line to make it with a particular girl, but he was the ninth guy, and still thought nothing (apparently) of not wearing a condom!
Aghast at this, Seth commented, “Really!”, and that he (Seth) wears a condom even if he’s ninth in line at the deli!
Too funny!
Of course, if Spitzer did not in fact wear a condom while “practicing” his infidelities, shame on him big time. This was another point (in a long line of points) in which he set a very bad example.
Wear a condom for heaven sakes. Don’t take stupid risks. And yes, as Seth Meyers put it, it may very well be a great idea to wear a condom while standing in the deli line!
